BP4_Notely.net

After many hours of exploring Web 2.0 tools, I found notely.net to be one of the most fascinating.  It has a number of features that I think would be most be beneficial to the students.  Notely.net is an organizational tool and amongst its various elements are four key features to which I would like to introduce my students – particularly my mentoring group.

The first feature is writing notes.  This feature allows students to transfer hand written notes into an electronic format to ensure that they are not destroyed or misplaced.  This element allows the student to maintain notes for all classes in this one location with drop-down boxes to facilitate the selection of one class which will make all notes for that class visible.  Below is a screenshot of the note taking tool that can be accessed and used by students and teachers alike.

The second feature I'd like to review with students is the To-Do list.  Many of our students today have a lot on their proverbial plates, however, they have not learned how to manage their time wisely and prioritize their tasks.  This feature could potential help them with that.  The calendar is another feature on this page that can help students  mange their time.

The third feature I would like to share and teach my students to use is the feature that allows them to export notes.  Most unfortunately, absenteeism is a significant problem in some of our classes.  Therefore, it is helpful to all involved to have an electronic version of the notes that can then be emailed, discussed by students and printed for those students who are having that difficulty acquiring the notes upon their return.
